Old City Colorado Market
The OCC Market
Story
AA
A small group of local farmers and organizations established the OCC market in 1985 as a Local Producers Market! It was created at a time when bringing only products grown in Colorado was considered the norm. After 40 years we have strived to continue that legacy by providing our patrons with some of the best local quality produce and goods in the state.
The market has always been owned and operated by a vendor/grower at the market, we believe this is critical in keeping this incredible community event true to itself as it continues to flourish each year. In 2025, Frank Schmidt of Schmidt Apiaries, together with his daughter Cindy and son-in-law Rick, decided to retire from the market after nearly forty years of bringing their honey products. Schmidt Apiaries supplied honey to countless customers, during which time their leadership contributed to the market's development and reputation as one of the city’s premier markets. Both the community and fellow vendors have expressed considerable gratitude for their sustained commitment to the market’s ongoing success! They will be greatly missed!

The current owner’s family has had a presence at the market from the beginning of its formation. They can be found there every Saturday selling their tree fruit by the stage. Their objective is to uphold this tradition by providing high-quality products to the market's patrons. They are eager to continue greeting you every Saturday, come say hello!
